Wlady Hoder

November 16, 1941 — May 30, 2021

Wlady L. (Lottie) Hoder, 79, of Duluth, died Sunday May 30, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Wlady was born in Ostowe, Poland Nov. 16, 1941 to Anton and Lucja Wabik. Wlady immigrated from Germany in 1951 with her family and settled in Duluth, Mn. While working at the Greyhound bus station in Duluth, she met her husband to be, Frank, while he was on leave from the radar station in Finland, MN. They married July 2, 1960 and started their family of 4 children.
Wlady worked 25 years at the University of Minnesota-Duluth as the head secretary of the Geography department. She enjoyed gardening, golfing and bowling.
Wlady was always the organized one keeping the kids on schedule with their activities, helping with the kids’ homework, or Frank with his job when computers came into the picture. Wlady loved each of her kids in her special way. Nothing else in the world lit her face up more than spending time with her grandchildren. Wlady will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. We take solace knowing she is with her husband and having two guardian angels looking over us.
Her parents preceded her in death as did two siblings who passed away shortly after their births in the 1930s, her husband Frank, sister Helen Glowacki, brother-in-law Bruno Glowacki, brother John Wabik, sister-in-law Carol Wabik, brother-in-law Tom Mrozik.
Wlady is survived by her children Tom Hoder (Darlin Johnsen), Susan Simcic, Lori Rengo (Mark), Lynda Windt (Rich); a sister Ursula Mrozik; three step siblings George Bodnia, Victor Bodnia, Nina Howard; grandchildren Brad Hoder, Eric Rengo (Ashley), Cheyenne Simcic, Ashley Hoder, Jenna Windt; great grandchildren Eli Hoder, Lilly Rose Simcic, Emily Simcic, and Scott Niemi Jr. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
We thank the staff at St. Luke Hospice for the incredible care they provided mom in her last hours.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice.
