William "Bill" Minter

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, William “Bill” Minter who left us on November 22, 2025. He was a man whose life was centered on love, especially for his family, and whose greatest joy was being a grandfather. Nothing made him light up more than time spent with his grandkids — cheering them on, teaching them, laughing with them, and proudly watching them grow.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, he found true purpose in coaching. As a youth coach for many years, he shaped more than just athletes — he shaped character. He had a gift for encouraging kids, building their confidence, and reminding them that effort and heart mattered more than the final score. Many who were coached by him still remember his steady support and the way he believed in them.

His love for his son and best buddy, Joe cannot be overstated. The two watched countless Vikings, Twins, Wild, and Bulldogs games over the years.

He lived with warmth, humor, and an easy kindness that made people feel welcome. His steady presence, his love for the game, and his devotion to family will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Minter; children, Sherri Latif (Alexander Latif), Joseph Minter, and Tony Minter (Stephanie Minter); grandchildren, Nourah Latif Calabrese (Matt Calabrese), Amani Latif, Ramzy Latif, Cole Minter, and Caitlin Minter; nephew, Leslie Minter; niece, Amy Kemp; and Joe’s caretaker and family friend, Kevin Anderson who will forever cherish his memory and carry his lessons forward. He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Minter; brother, Leslie Minter; and sister-in-law, Lorainne Minter.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am with a Visitation beginning at 10am on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1710 E. Superior Street, Duluth where family and friends are invited to celebrate his life and the impact he had on so many.

He coached with heart, loved without limits, and leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire.
