Wilford “Bill” Maynard Clementson, age 69, passed away on October 16, 2026, in Duluth, Minnesota.
Bill was born on October 23, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, where he was doted on by everyone, especially his mother. He was an active boy who kept everyone on their toes!
Over the course of his life, Bill developed a love for Coke, cars, wrestling, and the Beatles. He was proud of his massive collection of Coke memorabilia, model cars and car magazines, and he loved showing these prized possessions to anyone who visited his home. Bill took the trip of a lifetime to Atlanta to visit the World of Coke, where his love for Coke was cemented for life and his collection expanded.
Bill will always be remembered for his love of the things that brought him joy, but most of all he will be remembered for his smile. It wasn’t just a great smile. It was a happy smile that brightened the day of anyone lucky enough to be in his presence.
Bill is survived by his brothers, Keith Knutson and Walt Knutson; his sister, Sharon Bushnell; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and Evelyn Clementson; his sister, Betty Korshak; and his brothers, Gene Knutson, Dave Knutson, Felix Knutson, and John Clementson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Dougherty Funeral Home at 600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805. This date holds significance to the family as it would have been Bill’s 70th birthday. A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a short memorial service at 11:00 a.m. and light refreshments. Anyone able to attend is encouraged to wear Coke attire or the color red. Burial will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026, in Iola, Wisconsin.
The family would like to thank DRCC for the wonderful care they provided to Bill for over 35 years, and Dr. Jordan Lindholm and Aspirus St. Luke’s Hospice for their support, especially toward the end of his life.
