Virginia "Ginny" Lee Rimolde

August 1, 1956 — August 10, 2022

Duluth

Ginny died August 10 after multiple battles with cancer. She was 66. A fighter and optimist to the end, she passed away in comfort with a view of Lake Superior from her hospital bed. There was a beautiful sunset the night she died.
She was born August 1, 1956, in Detroit and lived in Ontonagon, Michigan until her 20s, when she moved to Minnesota’s Iron Range and later to Duluth. She touched - and was touched by - many lives throughout her career caring for people with special needs. She loved the work and the people she worked with.
Ginny is survived by her husband, best friend, and the love of her life, Joe, with whom she shared a happy home for many years. Some of her greatest joy came from taking care of their land together, and from loving many pets, wild animals, and rescue animals while volunteering with Wildwoods Wildlife Rehabilitation.
She is also survived by daughter and son-in-law, Rian and Kevin Langdon; son and daughter-in-law, Zachary Psick and Dr. Michelle Hamline; grandchildren, Luca Langdon, Brenna Salo, Kane Psick, and Kaitlyn Dahl; and many other family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Audrey Hayes; by her sisters, Vicki Branstrom and Wendi Hayes, and by her son and daughter, Ukiah and Rebecca Psick.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. Second Street, Duluth with a Visitation beginning at 3:00pm. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home 218-727-3555.
