Scott Spalding Tessier, of Duluth MN, passed away peacefully at his home on Dec. 24, 2025, at the young age of 64 after a hard fought and courageous battle against lung cancer. He was born in Duluth to Raymond and Patricia Tessier on Nov. 7, 1961. Scott worked for many years as an executive in the hospitality industry. He married Carrie Knotz in Coon Rapids on Oct. 17, 1992. Scott took a lot of joy in spending time on the golf course with his family and friends, particularly his spring trips to Iowa. When he wasn't at the golf course he was at the family cabin, possibly catching a walleye and driving his wife, kids, grandchildren and all the puppies around the lake on the pontoon. He also enjoyed coaching youth sports, especially when one of his children was on the team. He was an excellent role model and a great athlete himself, being one of the northland's top hockey goaltenders during his high school years. Above all, just spending time with his family and many friends is what he enjoyed most.
He was preceded in death by his father Raymond.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie; children, Alex (Kelsey Reckinger) Tessier, and Kelsey (Claudia) Gagnon; 2 grandchildren, Camille and Quinn Gagnon; mother, Patricia Tessier; siblings, Beth (Scott) Johnson, Greg (Tara) Tessier, and Neil Tessier; and many nieces and nephews.
