Robert “Mickey” McDonald Johnson, 87, of Duluth, passed away on October 4, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Bob was born in Duluth to Robert & Francis Johnson. He graduated from Duluth East High School and immediately entered the Air Force. After serving 4 years regular Air Force he then joined the 148th Wing Air National Guard retiring after many years as Sr. Master Sergent with the Security Police.
He was active in Boy Scouts of America attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. And volunteered for many years thereafter.
Bob worked for many years at Diamond Tool.
He was a member of Glen Avon Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and several years as Recording Secretary. He was a member of Glen Avon Lodge #306 serving 2 terms as Master and several years as Secretary.
In 1972 Bob married his beloved wife, Susan (Scholey) and they raised 2 children. Son, Brian and Daughter, the Reverend Kimbrel Johnson. He enjoyed his 4 Grandchildren, Mikayla, Gage, Wyatt, and Simon. He is also survived by a sister and a brother-in-law and their families and many close friends.
Celebration of Life will be held on October 14 at 11:00 AM with visitation 1 Hour Prior to the service at Glen Avon Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to Glen Avon Presbyterian Church or St. Lukes Hospice. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home. 600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805. 218-727-3555. Military Honors will be accorded by the Duluth Honor Guard.
