Robert "Bob" Thomas Brown

Jun 23, 1956 — Jul 5, 2026

Robert "Bob" Thomas Brown, 70, passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2026. Though his passing was sudden, his legacy of faith, love, hard work, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, carrying with him the values of honor, courage, and commitment throughout his life. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to the carpentry trade, proudly serving as a member of Carpenters Local Union 361 and later Local 322 in Duluth. He took great pride in his craftsmanship, believing that hard work, integrity, and doing a job right were among life's greatest values. The work of his hands and the lives he touched will stand as lasting reminders of the man he was.

A man of strong faith in God, Bob lived with humility, compassion, and gratitude. His faith was the foundation of his life and guided the unwavering love he so freely gave to his family, friends, and community.

To know Bob was to know a man who found joy in life's simple blessings. He loved spending time on the golf course, casting a line into a quiet lake, bird hunting, and searching the shores for agates. He treasured every moment outdoors, seeing God's beauty in His creation. His loyal dog, Bobby Girl, was never far from his side.

Above all, Bob’s greatest love was his family. He is survived by his daughters, Dr. Grace Brown (Danny Lee), Hannah Dobias (Kyle), and Faith Schake (Mitchell); his beloved grandchildren, Aurelia, Harper, Finley, Olivia, and Chloe; his former spouse, Kathryn Brown; his brother, Joe (Terri); his sister, Colleen (Jim); and cherished extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Carol Brown, and his granddaughter, Quinn Dobias.

Those who knew Bob from Hermantown will remember his generous heart, unwavering love for his family, his passion for Hermantown Hockey, and his willingness to lend a helping hand. He leaves behind countless memories, a legacy of faith, service, compassion, and an example of a life well lived.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Hermantown Community Church. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home Duluth 218-727-3555.
