Richard Bruce Brickley Sr.

Passed away peacefully with his family at his side on August 1, 2022 at the age of 82. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Carole; children, Richard (Christy), Tammy (Scott) Nephew, Jason (Diane); ten grandchildren, Mallory, Joey, Audrey, Ian, Morgan, Carolyn, Jordan, Samuel, Lauren, Claire; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He was a proud Fireman and retired as a Captain after 34 years. He was an involved member of the Knights of Columbus and a veteran of the Navy. Richard was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting at Split Rock Camp, fishing in Alaska and living at Island Lake for over 30 years. He was passionate about woodworking and made beautiful furniture. Above all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild. He will be dearly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11am on Monday, August 8, 2022 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 1419 St Benedict St, Duluth, MN with a Visitation beginning at 10am. Burial at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Duluth. A special thank you to Mariah, Dick's home health aide for the last two years, Essentia Health Hospice, and the kind and wonderful staff at The Waterview Shores in Two Harbors.
