Peter Mark Neil

Peter Mark Neil, 75, peacefully passed away on February 1, 2025, in Hermantown, MN. He bravely fought through multiple episodes of cancer over 16 years, with his last scan showing he was cancer-free. Born in Chicago, IL, Peter grew up in the suburbs of St. Louis, MO. He left a lasting legacy through the houses he built in the Mountain West and the family he loved deeply. Deer, turkeys, and Big Skies surrounded the home he built near Kalispell, MT. Peter enjoyed fishing and watching football.

Peter is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Cynthia Neil.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Margaret; his brother, Steve (Diane) Neil of Camden, ME; his sister, Susan Neil of Fairbanks, AK; and his niece, Dana Smith (Chris Frey, boys Crosby and Koa), and nephew, Brandon Smith. He welcomed his Minnesota stepsons, Dan (Ingrid) and Jim (Jamie), as his own and cherished his grandchildren: Brooke (Jeff) Wuollet, Austin (Sydney) Olson, Colin (Sidney) Olson, Ben (Abby) Olson, and Alan Olson.
