Patricia “Pat” R. Ogston, 89, Pike Lake resident, was called to Heaven on Thursday, April 11 at St. Luke’s, with her family by her side. Pat was born December 19, 1934 in Duluth to Roy and Florence Lundstrom. She was a 1953 graduate from Duluth Central High School, where she met Pete Ogston, marrying shortly thereafter.
Pat was always very involved in church, mainly Pike Lake Presbyterian and Hermantown Community Church, where she enjoyed their Bible studies, women’s groups, and Sunday service. She was also active in Agape House of Hope ministering to the local prison community and their families. Her door was always open to her family and friends serving as a spiritual cornerstone for many with daily prayer. She also loved her dogs and consistently fed the neighborhood birds, squirrels, and other critters outside her kitchen window.
She was preceded in death by her husband Pete, parents, Roy, and Florence; siblings, Bernice, Roy and Marilyn; great-granddaughters, Keeley and Kendall.
Pat will be greatly missed by her sons, Michael (Bonnie), Robert (Jill) and Kent (Jena); grandchildren, Jeremy, Jodi, Matt, Tara, Becky, Nicki, Mat, Kaelin and Evan; great-grandchildren, Nick, Michael, Easton, Aveya, Maddux, Marsden, Mazee, Winston, Charlie, McKenna, Ian, Noah and Stevie, many nieces, nephews, and special friends she met along her life’s journey.
Visitation to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20 at Hermantown Community Church, 4880 Maple Grove Rd, Hermantown, MN with service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Sign the online register book at www.dfhduluth.com, where livestream information for the funeral will also be posted.
In lieu of flowers, Pat asked that donations be made to Duluth Dream Center or online at pushpay.com/g/duluthdreamcenter. Located in the old First Presbyterian Building, the center is being developed in her old neighborhood to help make positive change in the Central Hillside community.
A special thanks to Diana Lonnes and the staff at Open Arms for their love and care for Pat over the past year.
