Norman Ray Olson, 71, of Duluth, died Saturday January 30, 2021 surrounded by his family at home after a short illness. He was born June 23, 1949 in Duluth to Elizabeth L. (Poirier) and Sigurd M. Olson. Norman was a 1967 graduate and served in the United States Marine Corps. He married Lori A. Knutson on November 20, 1976 in Duluth. Norman had worked as a millwright, most recently at Lakehead Constructors, Inc. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and he was active in the Pro Life movement. He was also a member of the Carpenters Millwright Union. Norman enjoyed people. He enjoyed talking with anyone and he made them feel special. He was preceded in death by his father; his brother Philip; his in-laws Wally and Arline Knutson; and brothers-in-law Rick and Kim Knutson. Norman is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lori; his children: Hope (John) Peer, Angelo (Nicole), Teresa Olson, Jaci (Shannon) Sulley and Joshua (Lindsey); ten grandchildren; his mother Elizabeth Olson; brothers Ted and Gordy; sisters Sue Lanasa, Pam (Patrick) DeGrace and Janine (Jay) Fosle; and nieces and nephews. VISITATION: Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 10am until the 11 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church with the rosary recitation at 9:40 am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
