Michelle Marie Carlson

Michelle M Carlson, age 47 died on December 10, 2025. She was born in Duluth, MN on October 3, 1978 and spent most of her life in Hastings, MN where she was raised and passed away.

Michelle was a woman of deep faith and devotion. A proud and devout Catholic, her love for God guided every part of her life and shaped the way she cared for others. She was known for her kind heart, sharp mind, and wonderful sense of humor. Michelle was a big talker who loved conversation, laughter, and sharing stories. Her contagious happiness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—reading a good book, watching movies, learning about health and wellness, shopping, and exploring arts and humor.

Above all else, Michelle’s greatest joy was her family. Motherhood was the role she cherished most, and she would do anything for her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose care, encouragement, and faith will continue to live on through them.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Cynthia Marie Carlson. Michelle is survived by her children, Angelo, Tiffany and Taylor Scalze; dad, Christopher Swanson; sisters, Amanda Carlson and Kerrie Jenkins; grandson, James; and nieces and nephews, Hayly, Holli, Hillari, Heidi, Hayden, Gavin, and Molly.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19th at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E Second Street, Duluth, MN. Interment at Park Hill Cemetery.
