Michael Robert Rushton

Michael Robert Rushton who preferred to be known as Mike, passed away on April 1 2026. He was 83 years old.

Mike was a kind, gentle and loyal son, brother, cousin, uncle and friend and generous to a fault. Throughout his life he supported numerous Catholic charities and missionary projects around the world. Mike loved hiking, canoeing and fishing in the Minnesota lakes and wilderness. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Francis Marion and had a long career in the trucking industry.

He is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Frances Rushton (nee Gerk) and his Colorado brother Richard "Deke" Rushton and is survived by his sister Jane Rushton, his sister-in law Susan Rushton, his nephews Michael (Jill) Stoffel, Jesse (Jessica) Rushton, Kelly (Lindsay) Rushton, Dustin (Amber) Rushton, great-nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

He will be missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 8th at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter, 1405 Sibley Memorial Hwy, St Paul, MN 55150. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to be sent to Solvay Hospice House in Duluth.
