Mavis Keller

Passed away on February 28, 2022 at the age of 87. Preceded in death by her husband, William; parents, John and Ingrid; siblings, Edward (Betty Lou), Sydney (Patricia), Donald (Mary Ann) and John. Survived by brother, Lynn (Sharon), and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Mavis worked at Essentia Saint Mary’s (formerly Duluth Clinic) from 1959 until she retired in 2002. She volunteered at many organizations including, Meals on Wheels (she and her husband won Volunteer of the Year), MOPS program childcare, Naomi Circle, the Alter Guild, and the Lakeshore Auxiliary. She was a devout member of First Lutheran Church, could always be found perusing the rummage sales, was a crafter, and loved shopping and going out to eat. A special thank you to the staff at Essentia Saint Mary’s and St. Anne’s for their wonderful care. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at First Lutheran Church, 1100 E Superior St, Duluth, MN, with a Visitation beginning at 10AM. Interment Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spooner, WI. Memorials preferred to Saint Anne’s Activity Fund, First Lutheran Church or Animal Allies of Duluth.
