Mary Jane Cox, “Jane” of Duluth, MN passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2022.  She was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on September 6, 1951.  Jane was an angel to countless individuals and within the community. She served with compassion, patience, and resilience. She taught the importance of giving unconditional and uncalculated acts of kindness.  Her career path started as a speech pathologist but as a young wife with a growing family, she became a Mary Kay associate where she excelled with her unique way to make anyone feel beautiful and worthy of greatness with or without any products. Most recently, Jane cherished the opportunity to work at Alakef Coffee Roasters for many years. At the same time, she dedicated decades to establishing, coordinating and operating local children’s safety and community initiatives. She was instrumental in numerous impactful and successful endeavors at the Lakeside/Lester Park Community Club.  Jane was a wonderful wife, mother and friend.  

She was preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Dorothy “Dottie” Connor and brother Eddie Connor Jr.  She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years Jeff Cox, children Deanna (Matt) Fearnbaugh, Aaron Cox (Jiahua), and Shannon Cox, sister June Connor and granddaughters Allison and Elise Fearnbaugh and close family Evie Brown, Mary Hart, Jane Vosloh and Matt Parkhurst.

Jane’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 10AM-12PM, at the Inn on Lake Superior in the Conference Center-Northern Lights Room, 350 Canal Park,  Duluth, MN, 55802.  Friends and loved ones are invited to join and share uplifting memories to help us smile through the tears.  A hotel room block (2 night Minimum) is available on a first come first serve basis.  For pricing information please contact the Inn on Lake Superior and reference the Jane Cox Celebration of Life.  In lieu of flowers please consider donations to:  The Immune Deficiency Foundation (primaryimmune.org) 110 West Rd.
