Mary F. Conley, 89, Cloquet, passed 08/19/2026
Beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend; long-term member of Queen of Peace Church; 40+ year employee of Members CU.
Preceded in death by father, Perry Conley in 1956; mother, Martha Conley in 1999; sisters, Peggy Broady and June Curnow; brother, George Conley; and special friend, Sheldon Armstrong.
Mary is survived by brothers, Perry Conley of Mankato, James (Laurie) Conley of Esko; sister, Betty Conley of St. Paul; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary graduated from Wrenshall high school in 1955 and worked the next decade of her life farming. She said it was the hardest work she ever did. A positive legacy of the farm experience is the joy she found in her home garden. Mary nurtured bean seed that was passed down by grandparents. It now resides in perpetuity with Seed Savers Exchange and is named Puype DeCaigny Belgian. Mary gave her all and took pride in whatever she did. She found her true calling when she started work at what was then Cloquet Co-op CU. She worked in multiple positions there before retiring on 11-11-2011. Mary treasured her interactions and friendships with credit union members and numerous others. She will be missed by many. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with a Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church, 509 Sunrise Dr, Carlton, MN 55718 . A special thanks to St. Croix Hospice.
