Marvin is survived by his children Kenneth Marvin Heide and Kathleen Ruth Heide-Wrazidlo (Paul Wrazidlo), as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry on his legacy: Jessica (Brian) Schmitz, Jonathan (Melody) Heide, Jill Heide, Julia (Paul) Rivard, Nicole (Ryan) Fraley, Brooke (Cooper) Osterling, Madison Heide, Gabrielle Heide, Heidi Schmitz, Elizabeth Schmitz, Hannah Rivard, Sophie Routh, Rivard, Hawthorn Heide, and Flora Heide.

After attending Northwestern University, Marvin earned certification in prosthetics and orthotics, graduating as a CPO. An avid boater, sailor, and skilled woodworker, he restored classic Chris Craft boats and shared his craftsmanship with his children and grandchildren. Together with his wife Margaret, his “first mate”, he completed the Great Loop and embarked on remarkable voyages, including a journey from Duluth down the Mississippi River to the Gulf Coast, traveling as far as Belize, Honduras, and even Cuba. A certified mechanic, Marvin also loved cars and motorcycles, restoring them with precision and artistry. He could fix and restore nearly anything.

Marvin was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Church. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Duluth, Minnesota, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday October 1st, 2025.
