Mark David Atkinson

Mark David Atkinson, 60, of Duluth, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday August 19, 2023.  He was born in Duluth on February 9, 1963, to James and Helen Atkinson.  Mark had worked as a carpenter for many years and on the weekends, he was always available to help a friend or family member with their construction project.  He was a member of Twelve Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church.  Mark also enjoyed building sets at East High School for the theater department for many years.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents.

Mark is survived by his sons Michael and Nicholas, siblings Larry (Rita), Thomas (Rita), Dan (Linda), Jean (David) Runquist, Mary (David) Hallsten, John, and Jim (Jeanne), the mother of his children Kellie Atkinson, and many nieces, nephews, and special friends Scott and Michael.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday September 16, 2023, from 11AM to 1PM in Dougherty Funeral Home.  600 E. 2^nd St. Duluth, MN 55805.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
