Marilyn Louise (Watkins) Olson

Went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 25, 2022. She was born to Hudson Hatcher Watkins and Helen Ruth (Woodhouse) Watkins on January 12, 1951 in El Paso, Texas. She is deeply missed by her family and friends.

As the daughter of a dad who was in the U.S. Air Force, her childhood was spent traveling to Germany; Anchorage, Alaska; Tacoma, Washington; and Duluth, Minnesota. She graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1969. Graduated from Pacific College of Medical and Dental Assistants in San Diego, CA. She worked for Dr. Leonard Sarvela Jr.’s Dental. She took a course in General Secretary at Duluth Business University and was a Vault Cashier at Goldfine’s.

She was Office Receptionist at Duluth First Presbyterian Church and was last employed as Homemaker  for Senior Friend when she retired.

Marilyn was loving, kind, and compassionate. She loved all animals. Her heart was especially tender and gentle toward cats. Marilyn enjoyed: crocheting, ceramics, crafts, reading, and camping. Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harold Alfred Watkins. Survived by sister, Margaret Jane (Watkins) Lax; niece, Christine (Russell) Salgy; Caitlyn, Callie, Cara, and Cecilia Salgy; nephew, Jonathan Lax, special friend, Monty Lyons; sisters and brothers-in-law.
