Marilyn Theresa Goodell (Kubiske)

Passed away peacefully on October 15, 2026, at the age of 83. Born in Duluth to Stephen and Theresa Kubiske on March 25, 1943, she graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1961 and earned a nursing degree from The College of St. Scholastica in 1965. Marilyn worked as an RN for more than 35 years, spending most of her career at the former Park Point Manor. She married Ken Goodell on August 7, 1965, and they shared 60 years together until his death in 2025. Exceptionally giving, Marilyn often volunteered and was always willing to lend a hand or sit and talk with someone. She loved gardening, arts and crafts, designing extra special greeting cards for friends and family, and creating beautiful silk flower arrangements. She loved her family most of all and poured so much love into every family gathering.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ken; parents; and infant son, Jeffery Scott Goodell. Survived by children, Richard (Tina) and Karen (Craig) Cuta; granddaughters, Megan and Lauren Cuta, and Libby, Chloe, and Molly Goodell; and sisters, Margaret Pecha and Elizabeth “Betty” Armstrong.

A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be held at 9am on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at St Benedicts Catholic Church, 1419 St Benedict St, Duluth with a Visitation beginning at 8am. Entombment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
