Marilyn Eiler Bero

With great sadness the family of Marilyn Bero announces her passing. She died on September 12, 2026 at the age of 96 after suffering a stroke. Marilyn was a vibrant woman who had a zest for life and all it brought her. She worked in the real estate business for 50 years in Duluth. She and her husband, Don Bero enjoyed world travel, golf, tennis and bridge during their retirement. They enjoyed their winters in Yuma, AZ and their newfound friendships with the other retirees.

In later years she enjoyed golf and bridge well into her 90’s and reading about history.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Don Bero; her father, Dr. Earl Eiler; her mother, Joanna Erickson; son, Wally Sanford; daughter, Debbie Sobanja; and the “Blitz Girls”.

She is survived by her children, Shari (Rick) Andasola, Steven Sanford, and Michelle Sanford; grandchildren, which meant the world to her, Brad, Jada, and Cody; and three great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Monday, September 21, 2026 at Glen Avon Presbyterian Church, 2105 Woodland Ave, Duluth, MN 55803. Burial at Forest Hill Cemetery.
