Marilyn Amendola

Marilyn Ann Amendola, 76, of Duluth, passed away on Thursday August 1, 2019 in St. Luke’s Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born in Duluth on April 21, 1943 to Engman and Inga Johnson.  Marilyn graduated from Hermantown High School.  She married Frank Amendola Jr. in Duluth on September 28, 1963.  Marilyn volunteered in the Surgical ICU waiting room at St. Mary’s Hospital for many years.  She enjoyed fishing, traveling, and playing Mahjong with friends in Duluth and Florida.  Marilyn loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for her 6 grandchildren.  She was known for her kindness and generosity and was loved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Donald Johnson.

She is survived by her husband Frank, children Lynn (Barry) Kramer, Kevin (Terri) Amendola, and Jeff (Iris Bermudez) Amendola, grandchildren Madison Kramer, Meghan Amendola, Jacob Amendola, Frank Amendola, Gabriella Amendola, and Nicolas Amendola, and her sister Nancy (Dennis) Brown.

Visitation will be held on Monday August 5, 2019 in Dougherty Funeral Home from 5PM to 7PM.  Visitation will continue Tuesday August 6, 2019 from 10AM until the 11AM Funeral Service in the Duluth Gospel Tabernacle.  1515 W.
