Kayla Marie Roettger

Kayla Marie Roettger, age 36 of Duluth, passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2026. She was born in Brainerd, MN on May 24, 1989 to parents Matt Lee and Shelly Roettger. She lived in Duluth for most of her life, graduating from Denfeld in 2007. Kayla experienced challenges early in life that shaped her with empathy and understanding. Through strength and perseverance, she found a path to healing and devoted herself to helping others along their own journeys. She was the proud mother of 3 beautiful children.

Kayla is preceded in death by her father, Matt Lee. She is survived by her children, Averi, Adrian, and Asher; parents, Shelly (Paul) Persons; siblings, Cody and Kelsi; maternal grandparents, Judy (Lanny) Sneva and Alan Roettger; paternal grandmother, Hannah Keranen; and many extended family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 10th at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. in Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E Second Street, Duluth.
