Joseph "Joe" Rimolde

Joseph (Joe) Rimolde lifelong area resident passed away December 19, 2024 in his home. Joe was born August 24, 1959 to Benedict (Ben) Rimolde and Audrey (Ostman), the 3rd of 4 children, attending schools in both Duluth and Proctor.

From a young age he became a media enthusiast. He had a passion for various forms of media, especially audio and video. He collected different types of films, music, and digital content throughout his life. He had a strong focus on preserving and maintaining all forms. Personally, he played the accordion, a lost art in itself.

Professionally Joe had a career with St. Louis County, retiring in 2016 after 33 years of service. Starting in nursing at Nopeming Nursing Home he furthered his education to go on and work in the Highway Department. It was while working on projects up on the range that he met the love of his life Ginny.

After he retired Joe and Ginny enjoyed their rural home gardening and tending to animals. With a pond on the property wildlife was abundant. In their free time they enjoyed thrifting and going to estate sales.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Virgina “Ginny” Rimolde, and his numerous fur babies. For those who know Joe there was never a time he did not have at least 1 feline companion. Thank you to his neighbors Dave and Jan and his niece Millie for continuing to care for his fur babies after his passing.

He is survived by his brothers John (Sharon) of Mountain Iron, Jay of Barnum; his sister Dot (Rol) Rounsville of Poplar and many nieces and nephews.

A private family service was held. Internment at Oneida Cemetery beside his mother and grandparents.
