Joanne R. Hendrickson

Joanne R. Hendrickson, 78, of Duluth, passed away on Saturday September 19, 2026. She was born in Duluth on October 14, 1947, to David and Ann Ankarlo. Joanne had a very strong work ethic, and worked for several different companies including PCI Road Construction, the Paper Mill, and for the City of Duluth at the Duluth Zoo. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, time spent at the cabin, taking care of the yard work at home, and she was a devoted mother to her children. Joanne was always there to lend a hand when help was needed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Les, son Scott, and siblings Geraldine, Jerry, Ray, Larry, Janet, Fern, David, and Bud.

She is survived by a son Paul, daughter-in-law Wendy, grandchildren Mathew and Sara, sister Kathleen (Chuck), several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 24, 2026, from Noon until the 1PM Funeral Service in Dougherty Funeral Home. 600 E. 2nd St., Duluth, MN. 55805. 218-727-3555. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
