James George

James M. George died on January 2, 2017 at age 71, from cancer.

Jim served in the U. S. Marine Corps and was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded in Viet Nam.

He worked at St. Mary's hospital and the United States Postal Service.

He asked that our family "have fun and tip a few" in his memory. "Jimmy" attacked life with an enthusiasm that was unmatched. He taught himself the trumpet, loved ice skating and of course played pool (a family tradition).

He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Henrietta George.

He is survived by brothers Thomas (Chris), Michael, Mark, sisters Mary, Michelle (Jeff), Teresa and Jovita (David), four nieces and four nephews.

There will be a private family service with arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Minnesota Veteran's Home in Silver Bay for their loving care of Jimmy.
