Evelyn Frazier

Evelyn Grace Frazier, 87, of Duluth, passed peacefully on Saturday, December 11, 2021. She was born in Courtland, MN on April 8, 1934 to Albert and Alma Havemeier. She graduated from Mankato State Teaching College and taught 5th grade students. Evelyn married James Frazier on June 15, 1957. She was an active member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Evelyn enjoyed reading, sewing, and flower gardening. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and cook. She also enjoyed volunteering, being a cub scout den mother, teaching adults to read, and working as a docent at Glensheen. Evelyn was named Women of the year in Duluth for her volunteer involvement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Allen, John, Eunice, Elaine, Al, and Richard, and her husband James who is happy to be with her again.

She is survived by her sisters Lee and Helen, children Kevin (Sue) Frazier, Erin (George) Vanderport, Collin (Shannon) Frazier, and Leaslin Frazier, grandchildren Katie, Brian, Makenna, Karch, Deanna, and Jason, and many additional family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 5PM to 7PM at Dougherty Funeral Home at 600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805. Visitation continues Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church at 2012 E. Superior St. Duluth, MN 55812 from 10AM until the 11AM Funeral Service. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Duluth the following week.
