Eugene Thompson
August 4, 1944 — December 10, 2016
Eugene (Gene) Lloyd Thompson, 72, of Duluth died unexpectedly on Saturday December 10, 2016.
He was a lifetime Duluth resident and former employee at Duluth (Steel) Works, Cutler-Magner and the Duluth Public Works. Gene is a US Marine, having served with the first Marines to be deployed to Viet Nam at Da Nang.
He was preceded in death by parents Wilmot (Bill) Thompson and Florence Strader-Thompson-Wilkins.
Survived by brother Warren Wilkins and nephews Matt, Andy and Jake, all of Minneapolis, MN.
Visitation will be held on Thursday December 15, 2016 from Noon until the 1:00PM Funeral Service in Dougherty Funeral Home. 600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805. Burial will be in Fort Snelling Cemetery.
