Elizabeth Olson

Elizabeth L. Olson passed away peacefully on January 3, 2022 at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. She was born on August 26, 1926 to Jean and Barbara (Hjelm) Poirier. Elizabeth, or lovingly known as “Betty Lou” was a true original. Feisty yet kind and sweetly in control, a lady who knows what she likes, yet loves being surrounded by her family celebrating life.   Her 7 children kept her busy, and that’s the way she liked it. Even later in life she stayed busy gardening and sewing.

Betty Lou is preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Barbara Poirier; husband, Sigurd; sons, Phillip and Norman; and all her siblings. She is survived by children, Theodore Olson, Susan Lanasa, Pamela (Patrick) DeGrace, Janine (Jacob) Fosle, and Gordon Olson, 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 610 99th Avenue W
Duluth, MN 55808. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
