Elaine Blustin Berky

Elaine Blustin Berky passed away Monday, October 8 in Scottsdale AZ, with her family by her side, just 11 days shy of her 90th birthday.

Elaine was born October 19, 1928 to Dora and Louis Chares in Minneapolis, MN.

She graduated West High School in 1946 and attended the University of Minnesota.

In October of 1948 she married Robert L. Blustin of Duluth.   They made their home in Duluth for the next 35 years and raised two boys, David and Thomas.  Several years after Robert's death Elaine married Benjamin Berky of Scottsdale, AZ, where she made her home until her death.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Serene Mankoff, and Muriel Chares, husbands Robert L. Blustin and Benjamin Berky.

She is survived by her partner Robert Galler of Scottsdale, AZ, sons David (Gail) Blustin of Duluth, Thomas of Chanhassen, MN, grandchildren Michael (Caroline) Blustin of Oshkosh, WI and Debra (Brandon) Kolquist of Duluth, and great-grandchildren Jazmine, Genevieve, and Solomon Blustin.  Briggs, and Brody Kolquist.

Servicers will be 11am Tuesday, October 16 at Temple Israel, 1602 E 2nd St. Duluth, MN.  Burial will follow at Temple Emanuel Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Israel, Duluth or the charity of your choice.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd St. Duluth, (218) 727-3555.
