Einer Skow

December 24, 1930 — July 6, 2019

Einer Alfred Skow – Dec. 24, 1930 to July 6, 2019

Einer Skow died at Villa Marina Health and Rehab. In Superior, Wisconsin.

Einer was formerly from South Range, Wis where he and his wife Doris June (Kunze) Skow resided for 54 years.  Einer grew up in Luck, Wisconsin on the family farm.  He attended the Spring Brook elementary school and graduated from Luck High School in 1948.  He met his future wife Doris Kunze at the Charles Kunze farm while hauling milk for the creamery.  She would make a point of seeing him when he was there and he finally asked her to a movie!  They dated for a few years, marrying in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Luck, Wis. on Sept. 14, 1952 in a simple ceremony.  They were together for nearly 66 years until Doris passed on July 29, 2018.

Einer and Doris lived in Luck, River Falls, Barnum and Esko where Einer had jobs as a farm worker.  In 1958 they moved to South Range, Wis. with three children and eventually added two more. He worked at Paper Calmenson Co. and briefly at SuperWood.   In 1974 Einer started employment at the Middle River Health Facility where he retired in 1991 as Chief of Maintenance.

In 2012 they moved to an apartment in Superior, Wis. and declining health led them to move into Encompass Assisted Living and later Villa Marina Health and Rehab. in Superior.

Their faith and belief in God were very important to them.  They attended several churches in the Hawthorne and Bennett, Wis. area.  Einer would lead church services, teach Bible classes, sing in choir and help others in many different ways.  Einer would eventually read the Bible 74 times had was half-way through again when he passed.  Both Einer and Doris had a smile and good word for anyone they interacted with, even when their health severely declined.  People felt good after meeting them.

Preceded in death:  Wife Doris, Parents Jens Henry and Emma Skow, daughter Linda and Son-in-Law Gary Woodhull, and son LaVerne, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Survived by Sons: Loren Skow, Leon Skow, and Alan (Laurie) Skow,  and Grandchildren: Angela (Brian) Brown, Keith (Stephanie) Pearson, Javin Skow, Jaden Skow, Kiley Donnohue, and Bria Skow,  three Great Grandchildren and two Great Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, Doris’s sister Evelyn and husband Roger Gundlach and her sisters-in-law;  Dorothy Kunze and Alice Kunze.

The family greatly appreciates all the help and kind words given to Einer by everyone who interacted with him.

Per Einer’s wishes no formal services planned.
