Edwin "Butch" E. Jampsa

Edwin “Butch” E. Jampsa, 94 of Hermantown, died April 8th at St Lukes. Butch was born April 3, 1932 in Wolf Lake, MN. He married Vivian Hansen on June 29, 1957. Butch operated Reliable Sanitary Service for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, puzzles & bowling, where he also coached the youth program. He was an avid high school sports fan following the Hermantown Hawks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil & Ellen; siblings, Roy, Enid Wells & Esther Bjorlin; son-in-law Greg Burstad & daughter-in-law Pat Schubitzke.

Butch is survived by his wife Vivian; children, Larry, Carleen Burstad & Vicki (Clark) Kaping; grandchildren, Matt Jampsa, Nolan Bannor, Jolissa (Troy) Johnson, & Kelsey Kaping; great grandchildren, Aubrey (Logan), Julia, Paige & Kalvin and many nieces, nephews, family & friends. Butch was a proud Finn with the SISU and will be greatly missed.

Visitation 5-7pm Wed, April 22nd in the Dougherty Funeral Home. Visitation continues Thu, April 23rd from 11am to the 12 noon services at Salem Lutheran Church, 4715 Hermantown Rd, lunch to follow. Burial at a later date. Memorials are preferred & may be directed to Hermantown School Activities.
