Dorothy Blix

Dorothy Florence Blix, 100, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Monday April 11, 2022.  She was born in Superior, WI on February 17, 1922, to Frank and Anne Kozey.  She graduated from Superior High School.  Dorothy married John Bernard Blix.  She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Duluth.  Dorothy loved to decorate and design, especially when she worked at F.W. Woolworth.  She enjoyed Polka music, dancing, gardening, and time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The family would like to thank Essentia Hospice, especially Brandy and Jenny for their care and kindness throughout this journey

She was preceded by her parents, husband John, son-in-law Randy Hiti, sisters Frances Adolphson, Leona Johnson, and Janet Mitchell.

She is survived by her children Laura Hiti and John (Karen) Blix Jr., grandchildren Anne (Nick) Truman, Katherine (Joe) Proveaux, Jennifer (Nick) Kistler, John Blix, and Rebecca Blix, great-grandchildren Patrick and Olivia, and two more great-grandchildren expected very soon.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 10AM until the 11Am Funeral Service in St. Michael’s Catholic Church.  4901 E. Superior St. Duluth, MN 55804.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home.  600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805.  218-727-3555.
