It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Dolores (Ossanna) Nesgoda on May 29, 2025. She was born on October 21, 1934 to Elizabeth and Edward Ossanna. She graduated from Denfeld High School in 1952. In the spring of 1955, she met the love of her life, Keith Nesgoda. They married June 1, 1957. Together they raised 4 children. She was an active member of St. Johns Church and was involved in many activities. She was a Eucharistic Minister, President of the Rosary Society, doughnut maker, and kept the flower gardens around the church beautiful every spring. Outside of the church she loved baking, gardening and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She volunteered many hours at St. Mary’s Hospice and Solvay Hospice House in Duluth.
She was a gentle women having gifts of patience, kindness and listening. Not only listening but really hearing what you were saying. Her beautiful smile will live on in all of our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; parents; sister, Betty Galinski; brothers, Tom and Charlie Ossanna; grandson, Kyle Nesgoda, and great grandson, Gabriel Phillippi. Survived by her children, Diane (Mark) Phillippi, Dan (Deb) Nesgoda, Mary (Steve) Blackwood and Susan (Jon) Elvy; 9 grandchildren; 13, great grandchildren with one more on the way; sister, Barb Sanders and many loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at St. Johns Catholic Church, 4230 St Johns Avenue, Duluth with a Visitation beginning at 9:30am. Burial Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the family and will be donated to various charity’s. The family of Dee would like to express our gratitude and love for the amazing care she was given at Keystone of LaValle Fields in Hugo.
