Debra R. Van Guilder, 69, of Hermantown, passed away peacefully on Monday April 13, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born in Duluth on June 20, 1956, to Mike and Lorraine Cardinal. Deb graduated from Proctor High School. She married Jim Van Guilder on June 29, 1974, in Duluth, MN. Deb had several different jobs during her work career her last job was co-owner and vice-president of Van Guilder Contracting. She loved nature, gardening, fishing and camping with Jim, and time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Deb made a lot of great friends while dancing with the Belidi troupe.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Tom and Paul Cardinal.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years Jim, sons Jeremy (Sarah), and Keith (Amelia), grandchildren Vivian, Draven, Freya, and Aleister, a brother Michael Cardinal, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 22, 2026, from 10AM until the 11AM Funeral Service in the Duluth Bible Church, 201 W. St. Andrew St., Duluth, MN 55803. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home. 600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN, 55805. 218-727-3555.
