Dawn Jay Murphy

Dawn Jay Murphy, age 63 of Duluth passed away surrounded by her family on December 5, 2023. She was born in Duluth to parents, James Murphy & Yvonne Stewart. Dawn was an East-sider through and through. She was born and raised in Duluth, attended East High School, raised her 3 daughters on the east side, and remained a staunch supporter of Duluth East Hockey her entire life. Dawn had an innate ability to make everyone feel like family. Her door was open for anyone that needed a place to stay, a warm meal, or someone to talk to. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the fortune of knowing her. Dawn is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Shawn & Patrick Murphy; uncle, Donald Morrow; cousins, Heidi (Morrow) Rekstad & Matthew Stewart. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Jessica (Joe Kujawa) Brickson, Jamee (Jeff) Parenteau, Meghan (Justin) Vos, and her many ‘children’ she gave a home to; grandchildren, Jaiden, Kenzie, Aunna, Shawn, Noah, and Hunter; father of her children, Scott Poldoski; many other extended family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with a visitiaton starting at 12noon in Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E Second Street, Duluth, MN 55805.
