Darryl Charles Sawyer

Darryl Charles Sawyer, age 70 of Duluth passed away peacefully at St. Lukes Hospital on January 22, 2025. He lived his life with a pure heart, boundless joy, and a simple, beautiful approach to the world.

Darryl was born on December 16, 1955 to parents, Peter & Elizabeth (Dennis) Sawyer. From a young age, he learned the value of hard work—earning his way through lawn care and shoveling snow. Later, he found his place in an autobody shop, where he discovered a lifelong love for cars and spending time at the Proctor Speedway. He graduated from Denfeld in 1975 and worked at Goodwill for most of his life.

Music was his passion. He was an avid collector of records and a devoted admirer of Elvis, whose voice and spirit filled his world with happiness.

More than anything, his priority in life was to have fun. He was a social butterfly who lit up every room he entered. If others were laughing and enjoying themselves, so was he. His joy was contagious and his presence unforgettable.

Darryl was a gentleman with a heart of gold, kind in ways both big and small. He was deeply proud to marry his beloved wife, Roxanne, and embraced her daughters, Nicole and Katie Kreidler, as his own. He loved them with a steady, genuine devotion.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation beginning at 12noon at the St. Ann’s Residence, 330 E 3rd St, Duluth, MN 55805.
