Dale Knight

Dale Knight, age 69, died on April 3, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories.

When Dale smiled, he brightened any room. Though his speech was limited, those who knew him understood that words were never necessary for him to make an impression. His personality, humor, and unmistakable expressions said more than enough. He had a mischievous wit and enjoyed a good laugh.

A cowboy at heart, Dale took great pride in his appearance and knew exactly what belonged in a proper cowboy wardrobe. He knew Levi jeans, a flannel shirt, and his cowboy hat were non-negotiable, although he was inclined to break out a Santa hat at Christmas. Like a true cowboy, he enjoyed his Marlboro Gold cigarettes and could often be found enjoying one (or two) while keeping a watchful eye on the world around him. A pen and paper were always within reach. Dale appreciated a good list and anyone who would help him put one together.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Knight and Shirley Tammi; sisters, Debra Knight and Terry Ann Black. He is survived by nephew, David Connors, and many friends and caregivers whose lives he touched over the years.

A Celebration of Dale's life will be held on Tuesday, June 30th at 12:00pm with refreshments to follow at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E Second Street, Duluth.
