Corinthian Edmond Sr.

Corinthian Edmond Sr. 63 of Duluth, MN passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 13, 2022 with his wife by his side.

Corinthian was born in East Chicago, Indiana on July 30th, 1959 to Robert Edmond and Ezelle Cobb. He grew up in Indiana where he was a member of the First Baptist Church where he was also baptized. He attended Roosevelt High School where he was an all-star football player.  Corinthian enlisted in the Marines after graduating high school and was stationed in Hawaii. During this time, he was able to travel all over the world to places like Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea and California. Corinthian was a Riffle Sharpshooter, he was awarded the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and the Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal. After years of hard work and dedication he then advanced to a Squadron Leader where he led his own group of men.

After retiring from the Marines Corinthian made Duluth MN his home. He spent the last 33 years working at the Radisson Hotel in Duluth holding many positions but most recently Head Custodian. He cherished his time and many lasting friendships he built there. Corinthian also worked at Roscoe’s Pioneer Bar and was a very valued employee there as well.

Corinthian enjoyed watching ESPN in his favorite recliner and fuzzy close by. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan. He treasured his family time and his road trips to Indiana and Wisconsin to visit his siblings, children and grandchildren. His most important stop was always Popeyes Chicken, a road trip just wasn’t complete without it.

Corinthian is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ezelle, step father Sanders, brother Robert “Boogie” and his granddaughter Kendrianna.

Corinthian is survived by his beloved wife Sherry Edmond, his children Correnda (Jorge) Buchelly, Corinthian Edmond Jr, Nettie Edmond and Alexis Edmond. Stepsons Marcus Rothering, Michael Kasper (Dani) and Mitchel Kasper. His grandchildren Anthony, Anilah, Jailen, Julien, Alanni and Gio. Siblings Edna (Art), Victor (Denise) and a very special bonus daughter Samantha Eckberg. Along with so many other relatives and friends that loved him so much.

A celebration of life will be held on August 19, 2022. Visitation 10am-12pm. Service 12pm-1pm at Dougherty Funeral Home 600 E. 2nd street Duluth MN 55805.

Full Military Honor Service to Follow at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Duluth MN.
