Claude A. Wollak passed away on February 15, 2022, at the age of 94. Born in Royalton MN to Nicholas and Josephine (Namyst) Wollak. He attended Royalton High School and entered the Navy in 1944. Served on the USS Battleship North Carolina during World War II as an Aviation Metalsmith. Married Bernice Schlichting in Royalton, MN in 1947. Lived in Providence, RI until 1950 and then moved to Duluth, MN. Worked as a Sheetmetal Journeyman and Foreman in Duluth until his retirement in 1989 and was a member of the Union 32 and 10, the Sheetmetal Local, for over 71 years. Was a member of American Legion Post 71 and VFW Post 137. A member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Duluth Heights, Knights of Columbus Council 8268 and St. Josephs Plus 55 Club, a Member of USS North Carolina Battleship Association. Preceded in death by wife, Bernice; parents; brothers, Louis, Edward, John, Bernard, Michael, Alex, Ambrose, Alois; sisters, Mary Peterson, Loretta Wollack and Helen. Survived by sons, Norbert (Terri), Sacramento, CA, Ronald, Maripposa, CA, and Robert (Barb), Golden Valley, MN, Gerard (Cathy), Marstons Mills, MA; daughter, Deborah (Mark) Steiner, Oakdale, MN; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial 11AM on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at St Lawrence Church, 2410 Morris Thomas Rd, Duluth with a Visitation beginning at 10am. Masks required at church.
