Christopher Williams Rhode

Christopher (Chris) Williams Rhode, 72, of Duluth, died September 16, 2026, at Aspirus St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota

He was born January 19, 1954, to Robert B. Rhode and Elizabeth Tennant Rhode in Duluth. Christopher attended the Institute of Logopedics in Wichita, Kansas, and Duluth Public Schools. He was employed at the Burger King restaurant in Duluth between 1980 and 2000, when he retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his very good friend, Ilona LeMier.

He is survived by his brothers Peter (Mary) of Roseville, Minn., Richard (Martha) of St. Paul, Minn., and his sister Katherine (Peter) Cassioppi of Rockford, Illinois, and nieces and nephews, and his special cousin Lynn (Vern) Spicer-Tucker.

For many years, Christopher received outstanding support and services from the Duluth Regional Care Center (DRCC), which enabled him to live more independently. Special thanks to the staff at DRCC’s Basswood for their wonderful care and concern for Christopher over the past 5 years. Aspirus St. Luke’s Hospital also provided great care for Christopher over the years.

He was a member of Pilgrim Congregational Church.

Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will be held a later date.
