Duluth

Chris Charles Boerner, age 74 of Duluth died on March 12, 2026. He was born in Marshall, MN on February 1, 1952 to parents, Donald and Gwendolyn (Long) Boerner. Upon his graduation from New Ulm High School, Chris joined the United States Army, proudly serving his country for 4 years as military police stationed in Germany. At the conclusion of his military service, Chris attended Mankato State University before moving to Duluth, where he worked as a police officer and was a member of the police pistol team. He retired from the Duluth Police Department after over 22 years of service. Chris was proud of his time on the force, and the lifelong friendships that came with it.

‘Das Bone’ enjoyed hunting, typically bird and deer, but also included alligator, raccoon, and an African hunting trip. He also liked the wind in his hair which meant thousands of miles on his motorcycles, slingshot, wheelers, and his latest adventures flying a powered parachute. When not off exploring he enjoyed riding in his tractor and precision shooting competitions. Das was an active member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club. He made friends everywhere he went and will be greatly missed.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Doug Boerner, and dear friend, Marty LeRette. He is survived by his children, Ashlee Boerner (Joe Weber) and Karl Boerner; grandchildren, Aurus and Pandora; siblings, David (Karen) Boerner, Carn (Larry) Bechen, DeAnn (Jon) Eversman; and Daniel (Kim) Boerner; special friend, Mary Kolasa; his puppies, Bell & Meg; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Special thanks to friend Jeff Johnson for all his support.
