Charlene Clarice Nichols

Sadly, we announce the passing of Char. She died peacefully in her sleep, with family at her side at Benedictine Health Center, Marywood. Born August 9, 1939 in Duluth to Thomas and Clarice (Gagne) Kinsman, the eldest of three. Char grew up in the West End, attending St. Jean School, graduating from Duluth Central, class of 1957. A wonderful wife, mother and friend. Char would often fit a week of work into one day. Char worked for I.S.D #709 for over 25 years— retiring in 1997. Char loved golf, bowling, curling and knitting, belonging to the “Knitting Club” for over 65 years.

Preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Clarice Kinsman; and sister, Gloria. Survived by husband of 68 years, Richard; daughter, Laura (Darrell) Lewandowski; son, Craig (Taryn) Nichols; sister, Gayle (Terry) Staroba; 2 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Marywood and Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care.

Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025 with a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church, 2430 W 3rd St, Duluth, MN 55806. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Parkinson Foundation are preferred.
