Brenda Jean (Sanford) Pavlisich, age 70, of Duluth, passed away Monday, May 17, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital, following a courageous three year battle with Breast Cancer. Brenda’s energetic spirit, contagious laugh, kindness and wonderful smile will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Brenda was a graduate of Duluth East High School and went on to work in pre-schools, hospitals and lastly as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Lakeshore Lutheran for nearly three decades. Brenda took pride in her work and delivered amazing care to patients with friendliness, compassion, and dedication.
Brenda was known for her love of animals, nature, shopping, enjoying company of friends-both old and new-and for living life to the fullest. Brenda was an avid photographer and loved taking pictures of Lake Superior and all things she found beautiful or interesting. Brenda’s life was made especially happy these last fourteen years while accompanied with the love of her life, Allen Entwistle.
Brenda was preceded in death by former husband, Donald Pavlisich, and father, William Sanford.
Brenda is survived by her mother, Dorreen Sanford; son, Raymond Pavlisich (Jennifer Crotteau) and grandson, Evan Pavlisich; life partner, Allen Entwistle; siblings Bryant (Peggy) Sanford, Bonnie Houghton, Lauri Sanford (Marty Bush), Greg (Eileen) Sanford, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by best friend and long standing “partner in crime”, Jill Frey, as well as Allen’s children and grandchildren who also welcomed Brenda into their family.
We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Silva, and to all the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at St. Luke’s who provided amazing care, allowing Brenda to extend her time with all of us, and have the best quality of life possible.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral Home, 3208 W. Third St., Duluth. If so desired, memorials in Brenda’s name may be made to Animal Allies Humane Society or Circle of Hope, Duluth to support those experiencing breast cancer.
