Bill (William) Allan Moulder Jr.

December 30, 1947 — November 11, 2023

“Bill” (William) Allan Moulder Jr. (75) passed away in his home on November 11th, 2023.

Bill was born in Evanston, Illinois, on December 30th, 1947. Brought up Catholic, he and his brothers attended Catholic elementary school. He joined the Marines in October of 1969 and later attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Bill’s lifelong passion was music. A talented bassist and singer, he performed in numerous bands throughout his life beginning at age seventeen until his death. He and his wife, Glenna, met when his band was playing at a bar in Duluth where she was a cocktail waitress. The two married October 12th, 1985, and had two children Billy and Bre. His 75 years were spent as an avid sports fan, somehow cheering for the Packers, Vikings, and Bears simultaneously. He enjoyed winter sports including skiing and ice skating, biking along the Lakewalk, organizing neighborhood baseball with his kids, or shooting off illicit fireworks in the summer.  When he wasn't playing with his band, the Circuit Breakers, he spent his time having long political debates with his children and watching old movies, which he often quoted in casual conversation.

He was preceded in death by his parents Catherine and William Sr., and his brother Dick.

He is survived by his son, William III, and his daughter Breanna. He is also survived by his ex-wife of thirty years Glenna, his brother Bob (Shari), sister-in-law Beth, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family ceremony will be held at the Duluth Veterans Cemetery on November 17th at 11 am. A celebration of life, open to friends, family, and former band members, will be planned at a later date.

Funeral arrangements provided by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. 2nd St., Duluth, MN 55805. In lieu of flowers, sympathy cards may be sent to the funeral home.
