Bessie Solon

Bessie Solon, Duluth, beloved sister and aunt died on Feb. 12, 2022, surrounded by her family’s love in Duluth.
Bessie was born in Duluth, MN to Nicholas and Demitra (Stasinopoulos) Solon on January 14, 1929. She was raised in Duluth along with her four brothers.
She graduated from Duluth Central High School, after graduation she was the main caretaker for her mother, and she worked for many years at St. Ann’s Residence.
Bessie was a lifelong member of Twelve Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in which she sang in the church choir and was a member of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society, Inc. and the Daughters’ of Penelope.
Bessie is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Sam Solon, Louie Solon and Chris Solon; nephews Nick Solon and Chris Solon.
Bessie is survived by her brother Vlasie Solon; nieces and nephews; Jon Solon, Vicki (Robert) Smoyer, Dina (Mark) Webb, Jerry Solon, Sara Solon and Kristina Solon-Boe.
Services will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 1:00pm at the Twelve Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 632 East 2nd Str, Duluth, MN. Burial at Forest Hill Cemetery.
