Beryl Christine Bredeson, 94, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2026, in Marywood at BHC. She was born on Dec. 28, 1931 to Oscar & Charlotte (Ovre) Jensen, in Franklin, MN. Beryl, like her mom, graduated from St. Olaf. She traveled to Europe then began her first Home Ec. teaching job in Kenyon, MN. She soon moved to Duluth where she taught at Woodland Jr. She met and married John and stayed home for several years, as they raised their four daughters. (The cookie jars were always filled!) Summers were often spent on long family station wagon trips, seeing sites around the US. Beryl later returned to teach at Washington, and in the ECFE program. She was very creative and sewed each of the attendants’ dresses, for each of their 4 daughters’ weddings. She lovingly created 10 beautiful quilts & gifted one to each of her 10 grandchildren. Beryl also loved her gardens, loved to travel, and loved time at their cabin. They cheered for Bulldog hockey and loved the D/S Symphony. She taught Sunday school for years, chaired and kept the FLC Fall Festival going & attended Arrowhead Home Economists & Creative Stitchers. She volunteered at the soup kitchen & helped others, whenever there was a need. Most important to her, was the time spent with friends and family…attending as many of the grands’ hockey, football, basketball, baseball games, tennis, lacrosse, concerts, recitals and graduations as possible. After retiring, she & John also enjoyed traveling abroad. She was preceded in death by her parents & brother, Frederick. She is survived by her husband John. They celebrated their 67th Wedding Anniversary together on July 25th, with their daughters: Karen (Craig) Brettingen, Amy (Michael) Barker, Julia (Dean) Sampson & Sara Muniz. Their grandchildren include Matthew & Lauren; Zack & Elise; Addie, Christopher & Daniel; Mitchell, Jacob & Stephanie. She was loved by all and will be fondly remembered!
