Bernadette (Bernie) Skraba

Bernadette (Bernie) M. Skraba, 90, died Friday, January 19, 2024, in her home at Edgewood Hermantown.  She was born December 11, 1933, in St. Cloud, MN to Otto and Esther Adelsgruber.  Bernie graduated from Cromwell High School, married Robert (Bob) Lohman, and raised their four children in Duluth, MN.  She worked at Nettleton Elementary School, the Duluth Clinic, and then in Data Processing at Miller Dwan Medical Center for 24 years until her retirement.  

After her first husband's death, Bernie met Joseph Skraba and they married in 1986. Together they enjoyed many cross-country road trips visiting friends and family and several cruises.  Bernie enjoyed sewing, walking, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.  

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert; son, Robert Lohman; daughter, Gayle Bell; brothers, Myron, Orville, James, Sylvan, Thomas, and Otto Jr.; sisters, Deloris Engelsen, Mary Dalton, Vivian Stoupa, Antoinette Black, Patricia Peterson, Ida Larson and Barbara Adelsgruber.  

Bernie is survived by her husband Joseph Skraba; son, Tom (Sharon) Lohman; daughter, Kelly (Jeff) Agne; stepson, Steve (Cheryl) Skraba; and six grandsons, Matt (Kim) Lohman, Stephen (Crystal) Agne, Josh (Kristen) Agne, Kyle (Casmir) Agne, Jacob Skraba, and Nick Skraba; 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 151 W. Linden St., Duluth, MN on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.   Private inurnment will be at a later date in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Greaney, MN.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home 600 E. 2^nd St Duluth, MN 55805.  218-727-3555.
