Bernadette Corrine Hendrickson, age 75, of Tower passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at the Benedictine Health Center in Duluth. She was born August 19, 1950 - the daughter of Martin and Miriam Gornick. She married Gerald C. Hendrickson on December 19th, 1970 and was a lifelong resident of Tower-Soudan. She graduated Tower-Soudan High School in 1968. Following high school she was employed at Alpine Chalet in Virginia, MN and Jeno's Pizza in Duluth, MN. She enjoyed having and watching birds and raising her rabbits - even her nickname was Bunny Bern.
She was a devoted wife and mother, generous friend, very devout Catholic and a member of the Blue Army. She made pilgrimages with the Blue Army to Lourdes, France, Portugal, Rome and Fatima. She was responsible for bringing the statue of our Lady of Fatima to St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tower and also requested, organized and maintained a display of payers and nirvanas at the church. She enjoyed listening to music and singing karaoke with or having an occasional cocktail with her friends and had a wonderful sense of humor. She said daily rosaries for her friends and family,
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin J. and Miriam Gornick; parent-in-laws, Hugo and Mary (Mitsy) Hendrickson; husband, Gerald C.; brother, Franklin Gornick; and sister-in law, Dale Gornick. She is survived by her son, Jerry (Gracia) Hendrickson; brother, Anthony Gornick; sisters, Carmen (Bob) Dale and Nicky Schumaker; brother-in-law, Larry Hendrickson; sister-in-laws, Jorgine (Frank) Gornick and Marion (Don) Malley; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11am on September 5, 2026 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tower. Visitation will be one hour prior with a lunch afterward. Father Beau Braun will be celebrant. lnurnment will be held at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Tower, MN.
