BARBARA SUE STAFFON

Barbara Sue Staffon, age 71, passed away on Friday, May 16 at home. She was born in Two Harbors, Minnesota to John and Helen (Gustafson) Olsvik. A graduate of the College of St. Scholastica she worked in Medical Records and Quality Management for St. Luke's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband Alec, son Leif Staffon; daughter Amanda Yadav; sisters Nancy Ojard, Sally Murphy, Julie Santero-Olsvik and Mimi Mehl; grandchildren Jack, Nick, Owen and Liam.

Barb’s retirement years were spent gardening, knitting, baking and canning. She was happiest sitting in a pile of dirt surrounded by weeds to dig and plants to tend to. She loved fishing on Kane Lake with her husband Alec and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren held a special place in her life. Barb was known for her generosity - always making care packages for friends, family, and neighbors filled with canned and baked goods from her kitchen, hand knits and flowers from her gardens.
